The Manipur Gazette, the official weekly publication of the state, has been a cornerstone of governmental transparency, disseminating notifications, orders, bills, acts, and rules to the public. Traditionally managed by the Directorate of Printing & Stationery, the Gazette has now embraced the digital era with the launch of the e-Gazette platform.

On February 26, 2024, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur unveiled the e-Gazette portal marking a significant step towards digitization. This initiative aims to digitize all gazettes from 1947 to the present, ensuring that decades of valuable information are preserved and easily accessible. The platform offers a user-friendly, cloud-compatible, web-based application for both citizens and government departments.

The e-Gazette application boasts several features designed to enhance user experience:

  • Document Storage & Viewer: Securely stores and displays digitized gazette documents.
  • Indexing & Search: Utilizes data mining and analytics for efficient retrieval.
  • Scanning & Capture: Ensures high-quality digitization of physical documents.
  • Document Sharing & Access Control: Facilitates controlled distribution of documents.
  • Payment Gateway: Allows for seamless transactions when necessary.

As of now, the platform has successfully digitized 7,471 Ordinary Gazettes and 32,549 Extra-Ordinary Gazettes, making a vast repository of information readily available to the public.

The e-Gazette platform not only preserves historical records but also promotes transparency and accessibility, reflecting Manipur’s commitment to leveraging technology for good governance.
