e-District (Mission Mode Project):
Under the aegis of the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), e-District as a Mission Mode Project was taken up for implementation by the Department of Information Technology (DIT) Manipur, within the framework of the broad guideline espoused by the Ministry of Electronic and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India (GoI). E-District Mission Mode Project aims to provide support to the basic Administration unit i.e “District Administration” to enable content development of Government to Citizen (G2C) Services for the Citizen, which would optimally leverage the Information Technology Infrastructure to deliver services to the Citizen at their doorstep.
e- District Mission Mode Project (MMP) with 35 nos. of end to end online services for 9th Departments in the 9 Districts was launched on 24th August, 2016. However, with the creation of 7 (seven) new District in the State the e-District Project has been augmented/ enhanced the process flow w.r.t 7 (seven) Districts and the same has been operational all 35 services in all 16 Districts.
The e-District application has immensely benefitted citizens of Manipur who get the much-needed services transparently with minimum cost and reduced turnaround time eliminating the need for multiple visits to Government offices and frustrating follow-ups.

e-District is one of the first project under digital India to be implemented in the state in record time and enhanced swiftly to include newly created districts almost doubling the coverage, and that too, without any additional budgetary support from MeitY. e-District implemented as non-pilot project has remarkably improved citizens’ experience in getting service from government in far flung difficult-to-reach hill areas of Manipur.
